Workshop | Big And Bold Abstract Painting

Join Janie Reisler for this NEW full-day workshop using where you will create an abstract piece of art in the spirit of Jackson Pollock using a large un-stretched, loose canvas!

Known as Action Painting, this art style is particularly associated with Abstract Expressionism. You will focus on the physical act of painting itself, as this technique emphasizes freedom of using spontaneous, gestural strokes and markings. It is characterized by energetic brush movement, drips, splashes, and other non-traditional methods of applying paint. This technique conveys the artist's physical and emotional being directly onto the canvas. The process is as important, if not more so, than the final image!

Materials to be included are loose canvases, brushes and tools, acrylic paints, gels and mediums.

This is a workshop for every level of artist from beginner to experienced painter. All materials provided!

10:30am Workshop Begins

1:00pm Break for Lunch Please bring food or beverage of your choice for the lunch break. Arts Warehouse has a large refrigerator where items may be stored as well as a microwave if needed. Bedner’s Market is just a short walk away with fresh made soups, salads, and sandwiches available as well.

2:30pm Workshop is dismissed

About the Instructor:

Janie Reisler is a new resident to South Florida coming from Montreal, Canada. She is an artist, graphic designer, graduate art historian and educator and has been teaching many art styles for over 30 years. These styles include classical life drawing, 3D design, fashion illustration, drawing from the live model, decorative painting, collage, recycled/upcycled art and currently the trending, MIXED MEDIA/ STREET ART STYLE. She is thrilled to bring her passion and expertise to the Arts Warehouse in DELRAY BEACH.
